Patient E

Ann is a Colombian lady on her mid-fifties. She is established in the UK for almost 30 years and married to a Tunisian man who passed away recently. She has no children.

She had a normal childhood: nice and supportive parents, eight cheerful siblings.
Holidays, treats, and studies at the University.

She meets this man and marries him 28 years ago, and then they come to live in the UK. Her English is good and she has no issues to find a job. Therefore, she is facing a hopeful life.

The problems begin when the couple is by themselves as he soon starts abusing her.

Patient D

Jacqueline is an Irish lady on her mid-fifties. She left her hometown by herself and came to London where she lives for more than 30 years. Two of her sisters live here too, they came years after her. She is not married nor has children.

Jacqueline comes from a large family of 10 siblings with a very strong catholic and family oriented background. Her mother was loving and a good listener and her father was somewhat strict, but loving too.

The relationship with her siblings was good when she was little, but she soon realized that she was very different than the rest of them and after high school, she decided to establish herself in London, to have more possibilities of expansion in life.

Patient C

(Patient C) is 35 now and has been diagnosed with PTSD due to a very traumatizing event when she was twelve and others later on in her teens.

These memories have left a deep trace resulting in claustrophobia. Any situation could trigger past memories in her that would generate a panic attack straight away. By using meditation techniques taught in class she has been able to manage the symptoms before the full panic attack develops. In this way, she is better able to manage her life, be it travelling on public transport, going to large shopping centers, or getting onto a table for an MRI.

Patient B

This case study is related to a client who is in her mid-fifties from a Caribbean background. She received 5 Reiki treatments.

(For confidentiality I will refer to my client as Patient B).
(Patient B) was born in the Caribbean Islands and belongs to a large family of 8 siblings. Her parents divorced when she was little. She was sent to live with her father when she was 3 years old. She did not like the quietness of the house or the absence of children to play with.

Patient A

This case study relates to a client who is in her mid-twenties and of African background. She was allocated 5 sessions of Reiki – Energy Healing.

(For confidentiality reasons I will refer to her as (Patient A).
Client A was born in Rwanda around the genocide time 1993-94. Life and survival were very difficult at that time; her parents left the country to save their lives and (Client A) remained with her granny in the company of her cousin until her 8th birthday. Everything changed when her cousin was collected by his parents and (Patient A’s) mother came to live with the grandmother.
